Islamabad, August 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):University Beautification Committee met here at the new campus under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani (Vice-president, A and F). The meeting was also joined by Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar (Vice President Academics, Mr. Nasir Farid Convener of the committee (In-charge P and PR), Mr. Al-Hassan (Assistant Director P and PR) and other relevant officials.
The committee reviewed the agenda items in the light of directions and vision of the IIU President H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi who is keen to implement the action to make IIU a leading hub of learning as well as he has given the task to committee to make this campus as unique and exquisite as its lofty goals are.
The committee reviewed the matters related to the horticulture, beautification of the campus, entry gates, security and allied arrangements for the admission tests. The chair formed a sub-committee of officials that will be responsible for the smooth arrangements of admission tests as its members through liaison with the office of the Director Academics will ensure maximum facilitation of the candidates and their parents. Discussing the facilitation of the students, the committee recommended that the stamp paper facility on campus shall be ensured.
The committee discussed the entry gates, situation of security at gates and opening of the new main entrance from the police line side. It was told the new gate shall be opened soon and it will be visited by President IIU to review the arrangements. The chair and the members also emphasized that cleanliness and weather protection arrangements for security staff should also be taken special care of, while it must be ensured that the soaps and sanitizers should remain available across the campus. On the occasion, the chair said that as per vision of the Worthy President IIU, it is a top priority to get maximum output within the available resources.
The committee also discussed matters related to security beef up at the university gates, hostels and parking. The security staff was directed to bring a detailed security plan in next meeting, while horticultural officials were also directed that master plan must be followed during the plantation and green belts for the visitors and students be prepared as soon as possible. It was also decided that it will be mandatory for all the gardeners to wear uniform during office time. The committee also recommended that lawns situated within the blocks in the campus should be beautified.
