Lahore, Asif Luqman Qazi, the Director of Foreign Affairs for Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, recently met with Minister Consul Yang Nuo at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad to discuss various aspects of Pakistan-China relations. The meeting was an opportunity for the two parties to explore the dynamics of their relationship, including party-level ties with the Communist Party of China, regional stability, and the current political situation in Pakistan.

Qazi also thanked the Chinese government for its stance on the Palestine issue and for welcoming a Hamas delegation in Beijing. He mentioned that such actions are highly appreciated by the people of Pakistan. He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to the supremacy of the constitution in Pakistan and expressed concerns over extra-constitutional measures, citing the prevention of a Jamaat-e-Islami mayor from being elected in Karachi as an example of actions that could harm democratic institutions in the country.

Additionally, Qazi underscored the importance of good relations with Afghanistan for Pakistan’s stability and suggested that China could play a significant role in promoting harmony in the region.

Yang Nuo, in turn, conveyed a message of goodwill to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq from Liu Xian Zhou, head of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Commission for International Affairs. Nuo stated that the Communist Party of China values its relationship with Jamaat-e-Islami and commended the party’s charitable work for the people of Pakistan.
