Lahore, Hafiz Muhammad Idris, a principal leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, recently addressed the topic of Jihad during the weekly Quran lesson at the Mansurah Jamaat-e-Islami Center. He emphasized the persistent struggle and courage demonstrated by the people of Gaza and the Mujahideen of Hamas.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Muhammad Idris elaborated on the verses of Surah Anfal, highlighting the Quranic directive for believers to remain vigilant against enemy attacks. He stated that it is the responsibility of an Islamic state and society to maintain war equipment and an army in line with contemporary needs. Idris also mentioned that Muslims who contribute their wealth to combat the enemy will be rewarded in both this life and the hereafter, citing the practices of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his Companions.
Idris pointed out the resilience of the Muslims of Gaza and the Mujahideen of Hamas, who, despite limited resources and organization, have shown notable courage against a larger military force. He criticized the actions of Israel, stating that their military efforts have resulted in significant destruction in Gaza, including the loss of innocent lives.
The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami underscored the disparity between the two sides, with Israel receiving support from American and European allies, while Hamas relies on faith and perseverance. He concluded by expressing his belief in the eventual victory of faith over force, as per his interpretation of Islamic teachings.
This address reflects the perspectives within Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the role of Hamas, a group designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the United States and the European Union.
