IUB’s Department of Political Science, Gender Studies and Women Development Centre organized a consultative dialogue

Bahawalpur, February 25, 2023 (PPI-OT):Department of Political Science, Gender Studies, and Women Development Center of Islamia University Bahawalpur jointly organized a consultative dialogue with Ms. Sharmila Rasool Country Representative, UN Women Pakistan and Muhammad Younis Khalid Sr. Gender. Prof. Dr. Syed Maswar Hussain Bukhari, Chairman, Department of Political Science and Prof. Dr. Yasmin Roofi, Director, Women Development Center welcomed the distinguished guests along with all the faculty members and students of the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Gender Studies.

It was a very informative and productive dialogue between the representatives of UN Women and the students. Muhammad Yunus Khalid said in his address that we should practically change the minds of people to bring gender equality in our society.

To protect gender rights, there should be not only preventive but also corrective laws. On the other hand, while answering the questions asked by the students, Sharmila Rasool said that Being a woman from the South Asian region, she would suggest that we should be well aware of our rights by reading the Constitution of Pakistan and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, awareness leads to security and creates a sense among people. Is. Create a peaceful and ideal society. It should start from our homes to the whole society at large.

Finally, Prof. Dr. Syed Maswar Hussain Bukhari, Chairman, Department of Political Science thanked the guests for their valuable cooperation and appreciated the efforts of Ansar Abbas, Dr. Shahzad Mehmood, Hasnat Ahmed and Hasnat Ahmed.
