IUB Conducted a Training Workshop on Kitchen Gardening

Bahawalpur, June 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Training workshop on Kitchen Gardening was conducted by Cut-flower and Vegetable Production, Research and Training Cell, Department of Horticultural Science, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Large number of students and farmers participated in the workshop. Project Director, Dr. Muhammad Rashid Shaheen briefed about the training and lightened the importance of Kitchen Gardening. Dr. Muhammad Nafees, Chairman, Department of Horticultural Sciences, while welcoming the audience put emphasis on the importance and hygenic food produced from home garden.

Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha in his address said that this training will be beneficial for community development because kitchen gardening is a community activity. Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jameel, Registrar, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Chairman, Department of Forestry, Range and Wild life graced the occasion. Progressive farmer Muhammad Sardar from chak 6 B/C spoke about farmer’s concern regarding professional help from institute; he demanded that we as an institute should encourage these activities so that our next generation will have more experience of field and entrepreneurship.
