Bahawalpur, The Department of Food Science and Technology, under the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), in collaboration with the Punjab Food Authority, commemorated World Food Day with a dedicated event on the university’s premises.

Esteemed participants of the event included Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Umar Saif, Director Operation of Punjab Food Authority in South Punjab, Noman Younis, Deputy Director of Punjab Food Authority, and Dr. Zulfikar Ahmad, Chairman of the Department of Food Science and Technology. The gathering was principally organized by Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan, with notable input from Dr. Muhammad Amar Khan.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi elucidated that the celebration, backed by the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, aimed to underscore the pivotal role of food and water in human life. He emphasized that every individual is entitled to nutritious sustenance and uncontaminated water, and it’s imperative to ensure the continuous and safe availability of these essentials.
