Islamia University Bahawalpur has emerged as a university that welcomes students from every region of the country

Bahawalpur, October 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):The spokesperson of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that in the last three years, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has emerged as a university that is welcoming students from every province and region of the country and along with admissions, it is offering scholarships and financial support on a large scale. Students belonging to Balochistan and former FATA are also benefiting from these welfare measures like their fellow students. Now, if these students have any complaint, it will also be resolved on priority.

The issue of admission and scholarships for students belonging to Balochistan and former FATA was resolved by the Governor Secretariat Punjab through a notification on 16 October 2020. According to this notification, admission quota was set aside for students belonging to Balochistan and former FATA in a major university of South Punjab and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and 50% discount was given in terms of tuition fee and hostel fee. (The copy of the notification and the notification leaf of implementation by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur) In the last two years, the students belonging to these areas are engaged in education in the respective universities according to the same notification and any kind of complaint or any protest.

For the last four days, a few students staged a strike at the main gate of the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed campus by blocking the exit road of the campus. The university administration showed restraint and avoided any kind of action. However, the teachers have been explaining to these students and asking them to open the way and end the protest without any reason to listen to them with understanding. Today, a delegation of civil society leaders of Bahawalpur came to these students to solve this problem with the university administration.

However, due to the lack of mutual communication and the protest situation. However, the Vice-Chancellor was contacted on behalf of the dignitary who is currently present in the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference at Murree. The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the dignitaries’ efforts in understanding the students and said that the university could consider solving the problems of these students and help the needy students on merit. There was consensus on this from both sides and it is hoped that this issue will be resolved soon.
