Islamabad Observes Mourning Processions Highlighting Unity and Devotion

Islamabad: A series of mourning processions and gatherings were held in Islamabad, culminating in the Tarlai area, reflecting deep communal reverence and unity during the observance of Muharram. These events, emphasizing the enduring legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) and the lessons of Karbala, underscored a message of resilience and spiritual solidarity across Sunni and Shia communities.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the funeral procession initiated by Quaid-e-Mlat Jafaria Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Mousavi featured speeches by scholars who urged the faithful to embody the principles demonstrated at Karbala. Al-Hajj Allama Syed Qamarhid Zaidi stressed the importance of Pakistan as a symbol of the Prophet’s legacy, further highlighting the ongoing commitment to the mourning practices set forth by Allama Agha Syed Hussain Maqdisi until 8 Rabi’ul Awwal. Additionally, Zaidi called for enhanced government security measures to safeguard the extended mourning period, which reflects a broader spiritual and historical observance beyond the initial ten days of Muharram.

Allama Syed Fakhr Abbas Abidi spoke at the Imambargah Hussainiya in Tarlai Kalan, focusing on the inspirational role of Imam Zain al-Abidin (AS) and his Sahifa Sajjadiya, a revered collection of prayers, which he described as a guiding light for perpetual spiritual renewal and salvation. The processions were marked by a strong emphasis on unity and the teachings of the House of Muhammad, which continue to inspire interfaith harmony and social justice.
