Karachi, Iqra University (IU) has set a new benchmark by hosting one of Pakistan’s largest job fairs, which took place on January 24, 2024, at the university’s main campus. The event attracted over 5000 students across various disciplines, eager to explore career opportunities.

According to Iqra University, the fair featured more than 600 national and multinational companies, providing thousands of job and internship opportunities to the graduates. High-profile attendees included CEOs, managing directors, industry owners, and members of various boards of directors. This initiative demonstrated Iqra University’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic training and professional practice, facilitating direct engagement between students and potential employers.

The job fair was inaugurated by Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Culture, Antiquities, and Archives Department. Dr. Shah lauded Iqra University for organizing the event, highlighting the quality of its graduates and the significant presence of female students and employers. Esteemed guests at the fair included Mr. Asif Sumsum, Chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) Delegation, and Tanveer Barry, Former Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce.

A notable feature of the event was the convenience of on-the-spot interviews, allowing companies to directly interact and recruit talented graduates from Iqra University. Mr. Tanveer Barry expressed the Karachi Chamber of Commerce’s support for the job fair, acknowledging Iqra University’s rapid growth in the education sector. Mr. Asif Sumsum also commended the university for this significant initiative aimed at student development.

The job fair concluded with remarks from Prof. Dr. Nassar Ikram, President and Vice Chancellor of Iqra University.
