Allama Iqbal Open University Introduces MS in Environmental Design

Islamabad, In an effort to advance sustainable practices in the built and natural environment, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has launched a Master of Science program in Environmental Design. The program aims to prepare professionals with innovative strategies that improve harmony between users and their surrounding built environments.

According to Allama Iqbal Open University, the newly introduced MS program in Environmental Design is focused on ecological energy efficiency, sustainable resource management, and friendly building materials and processes. The program is research-based, adding value to professionals in the built environment sector and enhancing job prospects both domestically and internationally.

The curriculum has been developed with input from experts at foreign universities and local engineering institutions, ensuring a global perspective and adherence to international standards. The MS Environmental Design program is designed to cater to professionals with a background in various engineering and planning disciplines, looking to specialize in environmental planning and design, as well as home economics.

The two-year degree program requires face-to-face attendance and includes coursework as well as a research thesis. Candidates with sixteen years of schooling or a 4-year education are eligible to apply for the program, which is open to professionals holding degrees in diverse fields such as civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and transportation engineering, among others.
