International Conference on Arabic Language Concludes at IIUI

Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) hosted a prominent international conference on “Role of Institutions and Individuals in Reviving the Arabic Language,” culminating in strong recommendations for a comprehensive strategy to promote Arabic from grassroots to higher educational levels.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the conference featured dozens of research papers and lectures from world-renowned scholars, including those from Al-Azhar University, Jamiat ur Rasheed, Dar uloom Karachi, and various national university faculty members, along with Arab teachers from IIUI. The participants discussed the significance of Arabic in society, its future, and the possibilities for its promotion.

The consensus among the participants was that Arabic is not only a pathway to Islamic knowledge but also a vital tool for bridging gaps between Muslim countries. The conference’s concluding ceremony was led by Dr. Fazl ullah, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic, who thanked the university management and the organizing committee for their support and arrangements.

Dr. Riffat Syed presented the conference’s recommendations, emphasizing the importance of Arabic in the modern world. Other speakers, including Dr. Susan Al Hudhud, Abdur Rehman Bashir, and Abdur Rehman Yousafzai, also shared their insights.

The conference, spanning two days, was attended by the Minister for Education Syed Madad Ali Sindhi, ambassadors, and diplomats from various countries. The event also featured online sessions with globally recognized scholars and was organized by the Faculty of Arabic in conjunction with World Arabic Day to pay tribute to the language.

Education Minister Syed Madad Ali Sindhi, in his address, highlighted the Arabic language as a significant asset for Muslims and praised the role of institutions like IIUI in society. He encouraged other universities to adopt IIUI’s educational approach. H.E. Muhammad Mutahar Al-Ashbi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen, emphasized Arabic as the language of the Qur’an and the need for steps to promote it. The Acting President of IIUI, Dr. Abdul Raheman, in the opening ceremony, spoke of Arabic’s importance in economic and academic development.

The conference marks a significant step in recognizing and fostering the Arabic language’s role in contemporary education and culture.
