Lahore: UN Women, in partnership with Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA), hosted a seminar at the Alhamra Arts Council to observe International Human Rights Day. The event featured Muhammad Hammad Ur Rehman, Head of Volunteers in Service (VIS), as a key speaker. The seminar marked the conclusion of the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Rehman’s address focused on the initiatives undertaken by VIS-UCP to promote responsible and ethical use of digital technologies. He emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and raising awareness about cyberbullying, online harassment, and digital violence. According to Rehman, these issues are significant human rights and gender equality concerns, particularly affecting women and young people.
The seminar underscored the critical need for addressing digital violence and highlighted the role of educational institutions in fostering a safer online environment. Rehman’s insights aimed to inspire further action and collaboration in tackling these pressing challenges.
