Islamabad: The Institute of Professional Development at the International Islamic University Islamabad inaugurated the Future Educational Leader Training Program with an opening ceremony that underscored the importance of educational leadership.
The session began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, setting a reflective tone for the event. This was followed by a welcome note and an introduction session involving 20 participants from various educational and leadership backgrounds. Attendees shared their aspirations and views on the evolving role of educational leadership.
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Director of the Institute of Professional Development, presented the university’s vision and detailed the institute’s initiatives in research-informed training. These efforts include a monitoring and evaluation framework tailored for IIUI Schools.
Dr. Kashif Sohail Malik, a Master Trainer at the institute, addressed the evolution and guiding principles of IIUI Schools. He emphasized values such as Islamic education, citizenship, and innovation.
Dr. Fouzia Ajmal, Consultant at the institute and focal person for the training program, outlined the program’s structure. She highlighted key themes such as instructional leadership, ethics, well-being, digital innovation, resource management, and school transformation.
In closing, Prof. Dr. Nadeem urged participants to embrace leadership roles with purpose, adapt to technological changes, and uphold the trust placed in educators by society.
The five-day program, running until August 1, 2025, will include workshops, interactive sessions, and activities designed to enhance school leadership capacities.
