Federal Minister Lauds Management of GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital on Karachi Visit

Karachi, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, visited the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Karachi, now managed by the Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN), to observe the new administrative operations and facilities on May 4, 2024. Accompanied by key maritime and local government officials, the visit highlighted the successful transition of hospital management and the expected benefits for the region.

According to Indus Hospital and Health Network, the delegation, which included Umar Zafar Sheikh, Additional Secretary of Maritime Affairs, and Mir Pasand Khan Buledi, Chairman of Gwadar Port Authority, was hosted by Dr. Affan Faiq Zada, Head of Campus at the hospital. They toured the medical facility and were briefed on both current healthcare services and upcoming enhancements aimed at expanding the hospital’s capabilities.

The federal minister praised the transition of the hospital’s management to IHHN, a decision anticipated to significantly boost healthcare quality in Gwadar and the broader Makran region. IHHN, known for providing high-quality healthcare services free of charge, is expected to bring its expertise and standards to the forefront of this strategic healthcare facility, enhancing service delivery to the local population.

The visit also saw participation from other significant figures such as Haji Syed Muhammad, Chief Engineer of GDA, and Doda Khan Mari, Project Director of PCFH, who discussed the ongoing projects and future plans aimed at further developing the hospital’s infrastructure and services.
