Islamabad, 17 Oct 2023:On the 16th anniversary of the Karsaz tragedy, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Women Wing Central President, Faryal Talpur, extolled the martyrs, emphasizing their unparalleled courage and commitment displayed on October 18, 2007, when they laid down their lives shielding their leader, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

In her tribute, Talpur highlighted that any narrative on democracy and the peoples’ movement in Pakistan would be lacking without referencing the sacrifices of the Karsaz tragedy’s martyrs. Commending the families of the martyrs, she lauded their resilience and commitment, which she described as being unmatched in the annals of the nation’s history.

Moreover, she attributed the prevailing democracy in Pakistan to the sacrifices made at both Karsaz and Liaquat Bagh. Recognizing the continued efforts of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Talpur expressed her belief in their dedication to realizing Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s mission.
