Lahore: On World Press Freedom Day, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is spotlighting its role in transforming lives through digital literacy initiatives. The organization’s “Bano Qabil” program is equipping Pakistan’s youth with essential IT skills, promoting self-reliance, and paving the way for the country’s digital future.
Alkhidmat Foundation is committed to transparency, ensuring that its operations during humanitarian efforts are clear and accountable. This commitment extends to its privacy policy, which responsibly manages users’ data.
The foundation actively works to empower communities with technology, encouraging informed decision-making and transparency. Through various initiatives, it provides digital literacy training and promotes ethical online practices, ensuring technology serves as a tool for positive societal change.
A critical element of Alkhidmat’s mission is bridging the digital divide, which affects education, employment, healthcare, civic participation, and economic growth. The “Bano Qabil” program provides affordable or free devices and internet access to low-income families, along with community-based training to build digital skills for all ages.
Through “Donate Your Skill,” the foundation connects skilled professionals with eager youth, fostering mentorship and knowledge-sharing. This approach equips students with skills for the future, including artificial intelligence, web development, and creative fields like toon design and animation.
Launched in 2022, the Bano Qabil program offers free, certified IT courses across Pakistan, aiming to train one million young individuals over the next two years. These courses cover web development, digital marketing, graphic design, freelancing, and e-commerce.
The impact of Alkhidmat’s IT training is evident, particularly the “Bano Qabil” program, which has equipped numerous Pakistanis with vital digital skills and opened doors to sustainable employment. The program’s success is attributed to the vision of Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, under whose leadership “Bano Qabil 4.0” was launched in 2024, featuring 40 modern courses and 30 training centers. Over 165,000 students have registered, with more than 50,000 completing the training.
These initiatives are not just revolutionizing youth education but also positively impacting the country’s economy, as graduates earn a global income through freelancing. IT skills empower individuals to become informed citizens, contributing to a transparent and accountable society. By understanding digital tools, people can participate in democratic processes, hold institutions accountable, and advocate for social change, fostering civic engagement in a digital world.
