IJT Members Clash with Punjab University Security Guards, Injuries Reported

LAHORE: In a recent incident at Punjab University, members of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) reportedly attacked and injured two university security guards. The altercation occurred when the guards requested identification from IJT members at the university gate, according to a spokesperson for the university.

The spokesperson identified the attackers as Zain Sarfraz, Ghazanfar Ali, Muhammad Anis, Shamrez Mumtaz, Zain Shaukat, Samiullah, Usman Ahmed, and Hammad Raza. The situation escalated when the security personnel approached IJT trustee Zohaib Fakhri and Nazim Hammad Raza for identification.

In response to the incident, the university has expelled most of the individuals involved in the attack. The spokesperson emphasized that any expelled IJT members seen on campus in the future will be reported to the police.

The university has assured that stringent security checks will persist at its entrances to maintain campus safety.
