LAHORE: Punjab University spokesperson has strongly condemned the alleged violence by members of the divided Joint Action Committee, who reportedly forced their way into an admin officer's office and subjected the employee to violence following the failure of their protest. According to University of the Punjab, the spokesperson reported that a group of protesting employees entered the office of Javed Anwar, Administrative Officer of the Affiliation Branch, who had boycotted the strike and was performing his official duty, and subjected him to violence.

The spokesperson emphasized that violent protests cannot be permitted under any circumstances and stated that strict disciplinary action would be taken against those involved. He noted that the administration had previously shown restraint by overlooking what he described as the committee's baseless protests and false propaganda. The spokesperson claimed that after the rejection of their negative campaign, a specific group resorted to violence. He further stated the administration's responsibility to ensure the safety and security of teachers and employees who are performing their duties.

In response to the alleged attack on the Inquiry Office outside Faisal Auditorium, the spokesperson dismissed it as a "drama" staged by the divided Joint Action Committee to avoid legal action. He mentioned that complete CCTV footage of the area is preserved by the university's security department and according to the footage from around 12:30 p.m., no motorcycle-riding attackers were visible, contrary to the allegations. The spokesperson also referred to a security report stating that three individuals broke bricks at the rear of the Inquiry Office. He reiterated that action would be taken against all individuals involved in violence at the university, without exception.
