Dubai Islamic Bank Dominates TCF’s Annual Golf Tournament, Boosting Education Initiatives

Karachi, Pakistan: The Citizens Foundation (TCF) hosted its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament at the Karachi Golf Club, uniting over 100 golfers, corporate partners, and philanthropists with a shared mission to enhance educational opportunities for underprivileged children. Dubai Islamic Bank emerged victorious, achieving a remarkable 49.7 net score.

The event aimed to address the critical issue of 26.2 million out-of-school children in Pakistan. Funds raised will aid TCF’s efforts to provide quality education to underserved communities, paving the way for a better future.

Zaffar A. Khan, Chairman and Head of the Golf Committee, emphasized the importance of education, stating, “Whatever little progress we’ve made, its limitations primarily have been because we have not given education the importance it deserves.”

For three decades, TCF has endeavored to break the poverty cycle through education. Its network now includes 2,261 school units, educating 320,000 students with the support of 16,500 all-female faculty members. The initiative is sustained by the contributions of individuals, donors, and partners.

Atif Bajwa, CEO and President of Bank Alfalah, underscored the significance of TCF’s impact, noting, “This speaks volumes of not just the dedication of TCF’s founders and sponsors, but also the incredible value that is being added by TCF to our society and our economy.”

The tournament was bolstered by Platinum Sponsors, including Bank Alfalah, Dubai Islamic Bank, Baacha Party, Bank Al Habib, and Unilever, each contributing PKR 5 million to advance TCF’s mission of returning children to school.
