Doctors in Islamabad Rally in Solidarity with Gaza, Condemn Alleged War Crimes

Islamabad, A significant number of doctors from Islamabad and Rawalpindi convened for a ‘Gaza March’ at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Sunday, demonstrating solidarity with the people of Gaza and voicing their condemnation against the alleged war crimes by Israel.

According to a news release by the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), the organizing body behind the rally, the march began at the primary entrance of the PIMS Hospital. It wove its path through the emergency section and concluded at the metro station. Medical professionals, encompassing both males and females from diverse hospitals and institutions across the twin cities, were present in notable numbers.

The demonstrators bore placards with pronounced messages such as “Israel Is Criminal; Those Remaining Silent are Supporting it”, “Gaza Hospitals Under Attack; Violation of the Geneva Convention”, and “Brutal Attack on Gaza; Shame On The UNO, WHO, Governments Who Are Not Stopping It”, among others. Echoes of slogans critical of both Israel and the U.S. resonated through the march, underscoring the call for international intervention and accountability.

Taking the podium, Dr. Iftikhar Burney, the Central General Secretary of PIMA, shed light on the distressing conditions in Gaza. He passionately appealed for global action, asserting, “The world must not remain silent as hospitals, civilians, and the innocent suffer. Humanity itself is under threat.”
