Dawah Centre’s Global Initiative Empowers Young Muslim Women

Islamabad: The Dawah Centre for Women at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with Turkey’s Women Forum Youth Wing, successfully conducted a 12-day virtual International Summer Camp for female students. Held from July 10 to 21, 2025, the camp brought together young Muslim participants from six countries, including Turkey, Norway, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Pakistan.

Led by Dr. Faryal Umbreen, the camp aimed to foster personal growth and strengthen the Islamic identity of the participants. The initiative focused on enhancing essential life skills among young Muslim women, with participants ranging from high school to university level.

The camp covered a range of topics relevant to modern youth. Participants were introduced to artificial intelligence concepts and their ethical implications. A First Aid Training session provided practical emergency response knowledge, while Writing Skills sessions improved expression and communication abilities. Holistic Personality Development was emphasized to encourage self-awareness and confidence-building.

Interactive workshops and discussions were central to the program, allowing participants to reflect on their identity and engage in cultural exchanges. The virtual platform facilitated a global sisterhood, connecting young Muslim girls worldwide and reinforcing shared values.

Upon the camp’s conclusion, participants meeting the criteria received e-certificates from the International Islamic University Islamabad. The initiative garnered positive feedback, with students describing it as “transformative” and “uplifting.”

Dr. Umbreen expressed gratitude for the participation and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering young Muslim women. The Dawah Centre for Women reiterated its commitment to organizing similar programs to equip Muslim youth with knowledge and confidence for meaningful societal contributions.
