Islamabad, November 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Muhammad Makki, Assistant Professor at CIPS Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, attended an Exchange Visit Programme in Brussels with EU institutions and NATO HQs from November 15 – 20, 2021. The visit was organised by Hanns Seidel Foundation. The delegates had discussions with MEPs, senior NATO officials, think tanks on #Pakistan-EU relations, focusing on non-traditional security challenges including climate change, migration, cyber security, food security, digitisation, etc.
Various issues pertaining to the NATO 2030 Agenda, including strategic vision towards non-traditional security, were also discussed during the meetings with senior NATO officials. The delegation also met with the Pakistani Ambassador in Brussels, Ambassador Zaheer Aslam Janjua and Counsellor Mr Raheel Tariq at the Pakistani Embassy in Brussels. Prof Yamin particularly discussed the issues concerning EU DisinfoLab and how Pakistan is increasingly confronted with several security challenges which are non-traditional in nature.
