National Institute of Management Officers Visit Pakistan Red Crescent Society Headquarters

Islamabad, In a significant collaborative venture, 21 members of the 35th Senior Management Course from the National Institute of Management (NIM), Islamabad, visited the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) National Headquarters on Thursday. This visit was part of the SMC’s local visit and field research course, designed to enhance their understanding of PRCS’s humanitarian efforts and operations.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the event featured presentations and discussions, with key PRCS officials including Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari and Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan briefing the delegation on the organization’s mandate, history, and broad scope of operations. The PRCS leaders highlighted their major initiatives, especially the extensive relief activities during the monsoon floods of 2022, which reached over 2.8 million people across 55 districts.

Chairman Laghari urged the senior management officers to support and advocate for PRCS in their future roles within the government, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to strengthening the organization’s humanitarian missions. “We eagerly anticipate your invaluable contributions to strengthening PRCS, as you persistently support its humanitarian efforts in service to humanity,” stated Chairman Laghari.

Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Bajwa, head of the SMC delegation, expressed his admiration for PRCS’s significant humanitarian contributions and confirmed the selection of PRCS as a focal point for their field research, acknowledging its impact and the strong leadership of Chairman Laghari.

The visit also included a comprehensive overview of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and the specific operations of PRCS, underscoring the organization’s expanded program outreach and enhanced transparency under the current leadership.

The meeting concluded with a series of symbolic gestures, including a badge-pinning ceremony, where all SMC members were pinned with PRCS badges to signify their commitment to humanitarian causes. Additionally, all members registered themselves as PRCS volunteers, further solidifying the relationship between PRCS and civil servants.

The delegation toured the Regional Blood Donor Center at PRCS NHQ and expressed commendation for PRCS’s efforts in blood donation. Mr. Bajwa documented his positive impressions in the visitor’s book at the PRCS Library, marking a memorable conclusion to the visit.
