The awarded funds will be directed to the educational institution where the recipients are enrolled, to be applied towards tuition, fees, books, and required materials. Recipients will not receive the award funds directly. To maintain the award, recipients must accept it within three weeks of notification; otherwise, it will be reallocated to another applicant. These scholarships are not renewable, meaning recipients must reapply each year to be considered for future awards.

Eligibility for the scholarship is broad, aiming to accommodate a diverse group of applicants. Candidates must be pursuing or planning to pursue a degree focusing on cybersecurity or a related field in the upcoming fall semester, either at the associate, undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level. A minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent on a comparable scale, is required for eligibility. The scholarships are open to citizens of any country, and applicants can be enrolled in on-campus or online programs, either full-time or part-time, in the US or internationally. Importantly, candidates do not need to be currently enrolled in a college or university to apply, but no awards will be disbursed until the recipient has enrolled.
