Center for Cyber Safety and Education Offers Scholarships to Women in Cybersecurity

Karachi, Clearwater The Center for Cyber Safety and Education has opened applications for its Women’s Cybersecurity Scholarships program, aiming to support women pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, information assurance, or related fields. The scholarship initiative is designed to encourage and enable more women to enter and succeed in the cybersecurity profession, reflecting a commitment to diversifying the field and addressing the global cybersecurity workforce gap.

According to Pak NGOs, up to ten scholarships will be awarded for the fall of 2024, with each scholarship amount ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. The awarded funds will be directed to the educational institution where the recipients are enrolled, to be applied towards tuition, fees, books, and required materials. Recipients will not receive the award funds directly. To maintain the award, recipients must accept it within three weeks of notification; otherwise, it will be reallocated to another applicant. These scholarships are not renewable, meaning recipients must reapply each year to be considered for future awards.

Eligibility for the scholarship is broad, aiming to accommodate a diverse group of applicants. Candidates must be pursuing or planning to pursue a degree focusing on cybersecurity or a related field in the upcoming fall semester, either at the associate, undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level. A minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent on a comparable scale, is required for eligibility. The scholarships are open to citizens of any country, and applicants can be enrolled in on-campus or online programs, either full-time or part-time, in the US or internationally. Importantly, candidates do not need to be currently enrolled in a college or university to apply, but no awards will be disbursed until the recipient has enrolled.

This scholarship initiative is part of a broader effort by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education to address the significant underrepresentation of women in the cybersecurity field and to support the education and career development of future cybersecurity professionals globally.
