Gujrat, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), addressed a large public gathering in Gujrat, where he outlined a comprehensive plan to address inflation, unemployment, and poverty in Pakistan, and emphasized the untapped potential of the youth in Sindh.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Bilawal, in his speech, thanked the attendees for braving the weather to show their support for the PPP. He dismissed the notion that the PPP lacks presence in Punjab, stating that the party is actively campaigning and serious about the upcoming elections. Bilawal contrasted the PPP’s vigorous campaign efforts with the lack of activity from rival parties.
He presented the PPP’s 10-point Awami economic charter, a strategy he personally crafted to tackle the myriad issues facing the Pakistani people. The plan includes doubling wages within five years, providing free electricity to those in need, constructing three million houses with female ownership, regularizing informal settlements, expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme, offering interest-free loans to women, and introducing crop insurance and financial assistance for small farmers and laborers. Additionally, the PPP aims to establish educational institutions across districts and construct healthcare facilities in Punjab akin to those in Sindh.
Bilawal specifically reached out to PML-N and PTI supporters, inviting them to support the PPP to prevent Nawaz Sharif’s fourth term as PM and to establish a democratic, people-centric government. He recalled the legacies of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, affirming his commitment to releasing political prisoners and uniting the country to combat economic challenges and the resurgence of terrorism.
The PPP chairman concluded by urging the people of Punjab and Pakistan to vote for the PPP, positioning the party as the champion of farmers, laborers, youth, minorities, and the oppressed, and as the only force capable of thwarting conspiracies against the country.
