Under the Prime Minister Youth Programme, HEC Pakistan has started talent hunt youth sports league volleyball trials

Bahawalpur, February 18, 2023 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Youth Program Higher Education Commission, Pakistan (HEC) Talent Hunt Youth Sports League Volleyball trials started in Bahawalpur under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Higher Education Commission, and Pakistan has started talent hunt youth sports league volleyball trials. In this regard, two-day trials of Punjab region were organized in Islamia University, Bahawalpur. These trials organized under the Prime Minister Youth Program will be held at 25 locations across the country in which young male and female students between the ages of 15 and 25 will participate. The objective of Talent Hunt Youth Sports League is to find the best athletes from across the country and give them opportunities to represent Pakistan in the field of sports.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja has initiated several projects for the welfare of the youth, in which women are being provided equal opportunities with men so that women can compete with men in every field of life including sports. So that they can play their role in the development of the country. Held at Islamia University of Punjab region Dean Faculty of Law Professor Dr. Aftab Hussain Gilani participated in the opening ceremony of the trials as the special guest while Mian Shahid Iqbal was the special guest of the closing ceremony of the trials. These trials included the brand ambassador of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Mohammad Bakhsh Javed, the coach of the volleyball team of the Higher Education Commission, Wasif Mahmood, and the officials of the Pakistan Volleyball Association in Bahawalpur.

There will be supervised training and an opportunity to play in the provincial league. After the completion of this stage, the players who show the best performance will be part of the National League from their respective province. Here it is very important that the talent hunt in the Youth Sports League will include trials, coaching camps, the best performances in the Provincial and National Leagues. IUB Management Committee members met Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr. Ehtesham Anwar regarding BLCF 

Bahawalpur, February 18, 2023 (PPI-OT):Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Dr. Ehtesham Anwar has said that annual organization of Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival in Islamia University Bahawalpur is a very good initiative. He said that Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival is a reflection of the great cultural traditions of Bahawalpur. He said that this event is being organized for the last three years under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob. Holding this event in the university not only highlights the local culture but also provides an opportunity for solidarity and unity at the national level. Commissioner Bahawalpur expressed these views in his office during a meeting with the management committee members of Literary and Cultural Festival of Islamia University Bahawalpur.

He said that divisional, district administration and other institutions will fully cooperate with Islamia University Bahawalpur in organizing the Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival. At this point Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zaheer Anwar Jappa, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Rana, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Prof. Dr. Naveed Aslam Mulghani, Additional Commissioner Faisal Atta, Dr. Nasir Hameed Director Information Punjab Bahawalpur and other senior officers and faculty members were present. In the meeting, Director Public Relations and Focal Person Shahzad Ahmad Khalid said that various events will be organized in Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival from February 27 to March 2 in Islamia University Bahawalpur.

Among them, all Punjab recitation and naat and speech competitions, mahfil samaa, book exhibition, flower exhibition, agricultural and industrial exhibition, theatre, media conclave, mahfil mushaira and other events will be held. He said that poets, writers, intellectuals, media persons and prominent personalities related to the arts from all over the country will participate in these events. Art to local artists under the direction of Vice Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob A special platform will be provided for demonstration. In this regard, some events will be organized by Bahawalpur Museum and Arts Council. Commissioner Bahawalpur appreciated the arrangements being made in this regard and directed that full cooperation should be given to the university administration in organizing the event.

One Day Training Workshop on Peace, Tolerance and Inclusivity for Faculty and Staff held at SUCL 

Larkana, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):Sindh University Campus Larkano Society for Peace and Conflict Management under the Patronship of Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Azhar Ali Shah, Focal Person Mr GM Shaikh, Coordinator Ms Hina Shah, President and Office Bearers Mr Shahzad Jokhio, Bhaledino Mugheri, Farwa Burdi, Waqar Adam, Mir Muslim, Aleena Memon and Faheem Shaikh organized one day training workshop on Peace, Tolerance and Inclusivity for faculty and staff in collaboration with Peace Advocacy and Community Engagement for Tolerance project of Shaoor Foundation. The workshop was attended by 24 faculty members and 16 support staff members belonging to departments of English Literature, Computer Science and Business Administration.

Prof Dr Azhar Ali Shah and Mr GM Shaik conducted the workshop session and informed the participants that the training workshop aims at sensitizing the participants about the prevalence of different forms of extremism at academic campuses, understanding ways and techniques to identify prevalence of extremism at academic campuses and enhancing capacities of participants on mechanisms of effective implementation of set of recommendations for peaceful environment at the campuses.

Training workshop focused on understanding extremism in Pakistani and global perspective and ways to identify existence of extremist tendencies among youth at educational institutes. This was followed by session on understanding PACT recommendations document and structure of peace and conflict management as per PACT project guidelines. Certificates were distributed among all the participants.

Dairy trainings on ‘Food Safety and Halal Management Systems and Intervention in Consumer Awareness’ complete at UVAS 

Lahore, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Department of Dairy Technology of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab (L and DD) under the project of ‘Capacity Building of dairy farmers and industry stakeholders on milk value chain’ organised concluding ceremonies of five days and three days hands-on trainings on Food Safety and Halal Management Systems and Intervention in Consumer Awareness here at City Campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad presided over the concluding ceremony of trainings and distributed certificates among participants while Project Director Dr Muhammad Junaid and 31 participants/professionals from public and private sectors including dairy farmers, veterinary officers, dieticians and consultants were present. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad urged the participants learning techniques regarding dairy processing, value edition and pasteurization of milk to boost dairy sector.

Delegation from Brooke Pakistan visits UVAS Surgery Department

Lahore, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):Delegations from Brooke Pakistan led by Global Farriery Advisor Mr Angus Wiseman along with Farrier Consultant Tom Burch, Animal Welfare Officer Dr Vincent Oloo and Animal Welfare Officer Dr Samanta Opera paid visit to Department of Surgery of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore to reviewed available facilities of Surgery Department and they also showed interest in providing capacity building training to students and para-veterinary staff.

Later a meeting was held and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the meeting while Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, Healthcare Manager Brook Pakistan Mr Jawaid Khan, Regional Manager Dr Arshad Ansari and UVAS faculty member and officials from Brooke Pakistan were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that UVAS collaboration with Brook Pakistan is not only important for the animal welfare even also for the beneficial of poor farming community. He shared UVAS collaborative work with Brook Pakistan is very necessary for imparting practical training to students and para-veterinary staff regarding equine handling, pain recognition, clinical competency skills and farrier treatment for their capacity building.

Certificate Distribution Ceremony of Training program on “Project Development with Python and Android Application Development” 

Kotli, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Certificate Distribution Ceremony of Training program on “Project Development with Python and Android Application Development” was held at Video Conferencing Room of the University and was organized by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell. Prof. Dr. Rehmat Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor presided over the ceremony and awarded the certificates to the trainees and participants.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Rehmat Ali Khan said we are committed in promoting innovation and entrepreneurial culture and are trying to foster an environment that provides students with problem-solving skills and opportunities to learn from technology.

Dr. Rehmat further added that such training initiatives should be continued frequently as they strengthen the skills and creative thinking among the students. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Ghulam Nabi, Dean Faculty of Computing and Engineering, Dr. Asif Khan, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell and Department of Software Engineering for organizing a successful training program in a befitting manner.
Other speakers included Dr. Ghulam Nabi and Dr. Khan Asif Khan, highlighted the aim, objectives, contents and commercial benefits of the training.

Talking about the progress in Artificial Intelligence, especially Amazon and Chat GPT, they emphasized that future is in AI if we do not make the young generation aware of the modern technology, then we will lose our epoch.
