Islamabad, As the New Year commences, former President of Pakistan and President of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari, has extended his wishes for global peace and prosperity. His message comes at a time of global unrest and domestic challenges within Pakistan.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Zardari expressed concern over the current global conflicts, particularly highlighting the situation in Gaza and the plight of people in Occupied Kashmir, stating that these crises diminish the spirit of the New Year. He emphasized the urgent need to combat extremism and intolerance to achieve peace, development, and prosperity.
Zardari also drew attention to the challenges faced by Pakistan, including the adverse effects of climate change, rising unemployment, and inflation, which have compounded difficulties for the nation’s citizens. He stressed that the Pakistan People’s Party, gearing up for the elections on February 8 next year, is committed to addressing these issues.
He placed significant emphasis on the ten-point manifesto of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, describing it as crucial for the country’s development and the well-being of its people. Zardari expressed his hopes that 2024 will herald a year of peace, goodwill, and blessings, particularly for Pakistan.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Pakistan Army and police forces in restoring peace, Zardari reaffirmed the PPP’s dedication to its manifesto focused on national development and the prosperity of its people. He projected confidence in the PPP’s ability to alleviate issues such as hunger, unemployment, inflation, and economic distress if victorious in the upcoming elections.
Zardari’s message underscores his vision for a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan, and highlights the PPP’s commitment to addressing both domestic and international challenges in the coming year.
