Army Secures Victory at 25th Men’s National Baseball Championship

Rawalpindi: The Army team clinched the title at the 25th Men’s National Baseball Championship, defeating Pakistan WAPDA by three runs in a closely contested final. The championship, organized by the Pakistan Federation Baseball, culminated at the GHQ Rawalpindi Baseball Ground.

According to Pakistan Federation Baseball, the final game saw the Army team taking a narrow lead, with players Faqir Hussain, Wasim Akram, and Muhammad Younis each scoring a run to secure the win. The event was graced by Brigadier Umar (MT) as the chief guest, who received a warm reception from the attendees, including a bouquet and an honorary shield presented by Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, the General Secretary of the Federation.

The competition also featured a match for third place earlier in the day, where the Higher Education Commission (HEC) team overcame Islamabad with a score of 5-3. Players from HEC, including Rais Bashir and Saeed Akhtar, contributed to their team’s success with crucial runs.

The ceremony highlighted the Federation’s appreciation for the sport’s development and the participants’ dedication, with Moazzam Khan Klair extending his congratulations to the winners and commending all players for their efforts during the championship.
