A delegation of journalists visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur, July 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor has said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a national asset and its betterment is the responsibility of all the stakeholders. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while talking to a delegation of journalists in his office today. The delegation was led by senior journalist, former president Press Club Bahawalpur Tauseef Ahmad Bhatti. The Vice-Chancellor said that in the last three years, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has made extraordinary progress in every field.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has increased the opportunities of higher education not only for the local but also for the youth all over Pakistan which is the reason 57 thousand students are studying in more than 300 disciplines. In view of the increasing number of students, the number of teachers has also been increased and their number has increased from 450 to 1250. The Vice-Chancellor said that a unique training program for teachers is ongoing in the history of universities in which more than 2000 teachers are participating.

New campuses have been set up at Ahmad Pur East and Liaquat Pur and encouraging results have been obtained by the government for their construction. He said that there has been an extraordinary increase in development projects in the university and development projects worth 12 billion rupees are underway. For development and improvement of the university infrastructure, the cooperation of the government as well as the civil society and the media is also very important so that these projects are implemented in time.

The completion of these development projects will increase the quality of teaching activities and the ranking of the university will also reach the global level. On this occasion, Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti, former president of Press Club, Junaid Nazir, former president of Press Club and senior journalists, Mian Aziz, Irfan Joya, Imran Shams, Sikandar Azam, Yasin Ansari, Muhammad Asim and Atif Abbasi also expressed their views and said that journalist’s community is playing an active role in the development of the university and the cooperation from the university is a welcome sign in this regard. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid Director Press Media and Publications, Assistant Professor Jam Sajjad Hussain and Senior Staff Officer Waseem Siddiqui were also present in the meeting.
