Turbat: BS Botany students from the University of Turbat's Department of Natural and Basic Sciences visited Tufail's Agricultural Farm in Jusak, Turbat, on October 28, 2026, to gain practical experience in diagnosing plant diseases in a farming setting. The farm is home to various fruit trees and agricultural crops.
According to University of Turbat, the students, guided by Department Head Dr. Irshad Mayar and course instructor Ms. Mahnaz Kareem, conducted thorough examinations of plants suffering from bacterial and viral infections. The outcomes of these investigations are intended to be shared with local farmers to aid in disease management.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan praised the Department of Natural and Basic Sciences for their efforts in providing students with practical learning experiences. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in agriculture, aligning with the university's Strategic Plan 2026-2030. Dr. Irshad Mayar expressed gratitude to farm owner Prof. Tufail for supporting the educational visit.
