Lahore: Pakistan's premier cricket event, the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), is set to return for its 12th edition, running from March 18 to May 2, 2027, featuring all eight franchises vying for the championship title. According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament window was finalized after extensive consultations with key stakeholders during the PSL Governing Council meeting in London on September 1, 2026.
HBL PSL 12 aims to build on the achievements of the 2026 season, which marked the introduction of an eight-team format and a switch from a draft to a player auction system. The 2026 season concluded with Peshawar Zalmi securing victory over the debutant Hyderabad Kingsmen, capturing the title after a nine-year pursuit in front of a record crowd of 32,461 at Gaddafi Stadium.
With the tournament window set, the league will soon unveil details regarding direct signings, retention announcements, the trade window, and the player auction, providing fans with multiple milestones to anticipate. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence in the league's growth, emphasizing the aim to deliver another successful season. HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer echoed this sentiment, highlighting the expectations set by last season's success and the excitement building for the upcoming competition.
