Karachi: The PCB Inter-School Cricket Tournament has been declared the world's largest school cricket tournament in terms of team participation, according to the President of the Regional Cricket Association Karachi (RCAK), Nadeem Omar. This assertion highlights the scale and scope of the event, which is unparalleled globally.
According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, Nadeem Omar emphasized the significance of organizing and promoting school cricket on such a large scale across Pakistan, crediting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their efforts. He specifically acknowledged Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and his team for their practical initiatives aimed at promoting cricket and nurturing new talent at the grassroots level. Omar also praised Director of Domestic Cricket Operations Usama Sharoon Niazi for establishing a comprehensive network of cricket activities nationwide, which are thriving across various cities and regions.
Omar noted that school cricket serves as the foundation of future cricket development in any country. Through the PCB Inter-School Cricket Tournament, young players from schools nationwide will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities, potentially representing Pakistan at both domestic and national levels. He commended Niazi’s dedication to promoting cricket, particularly for creating opportunities at the youth and grassroots levels.
