Dhaka: Shaun Tait has stepped down from his role as Bangladesh's fast bowling coach, a position he held for just 12 months. His departure comes despite a contract that was set to run until November 2027.

According to International Cricket Council, Tait initially joined the team in May of the previous year, replacing former New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams. During his brief tenure, the Bangladesh pace unit experienced significant improvements, with fast bowlers playing crucial roles in matches across various formats.

One of the emerging talents under Tait's guidance was Nahid Rana, a young fast bowler who achieved a notable five-wicket haul against Pakistan in an ODI match earlier this year. Rana acknowledged Tait's influence in boosting his confidence at the international level, highlighting Tait's friendly approach and strategic insights.

Tait's time with the team was marked by a significant achievement: Bangladesh's historic 2-0 Test series victory over Pakistan, where the seam attack was pivotal.
