KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has accused the Sindh government of failing to implement an effective fire safety framework, leaving the province vulnerable to disasters. He highlighted the lack of operational fire safety systems in buildings across Sindh and criticized the Sindh Building Control Authority for corruption and negligence in safety regulations.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid expressed grave concern over the absence of fire safety mechanisms, pointing out that violations are rampant in malls, plazas, high-rises, and hospitals. He noted that outdated equipment and a lack of fire drills exacerbate the risk. Khalid criticized the SBCA for approving building plans without adhering to safety standards and demanded immediate reforms, including mandatory fire audits and legal actions against violators.
