Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Pays Tribute to Zia Zareef and Shahid Hameed

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held a condolence reference to honor the late Zia Zareef and Shahid Hameed, who were celebrated figures in the realms of acting, directing, and writing. Prominent personalities from the arts and culture sectors gathered to remember the significant artistic contributions and enduring legacies of the two artists.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event was attended by President Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Drama Committee Chairman Shehzad Raza Naqvi, Special Events Committee Chairman Iqbal Latif, and various artists including Nazar Hussain, Adam Rathore, Rauf Lala, and others. The ceremony began with a recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Qari Waqar, followed by prayers for the departed souls. Mohammad Ahmed Shah spoke of Zia Zareef as a versatile and talented artist, emphasizing the profound sorrow of losing a father. Shehzad Raza Naqvi praised Shahid Hameed's exceptional dubbing work and fondly recalled memories with Zia Zareef.

Iqbal Latif noted the recent painful losses within the artistic community, including Zia Zareef and Shahid Hameed, but highlighted that true artists live on through their work. Rauf Lala and Ali Hassan shared personal memories, praising the humility and talent of both artists. Manahil Zia Zareef, speaking for the family, expressed gratitude for the fond remembrances of her father, underscoring his passion for art and theatre as his lasting legacy.
