KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has accused the Sindh government of severe incompetence and mismanagement concerning the BRT Red Line project. He criticized Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, stating that their actions have brought the crucial public transport project to the brink of destruction.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Dispute Board nullified the provincial government's decision to terminate the Lot 2 contract, deeming it hasty and illegal. The board's majority decision, passed by a 2-1 vote, challenges the Sindh government's claims. Khalid noted that the cancellation violated the agreed contract terms, exposing the government's intentions. He pointed out that the revised designs for most of the project stations were not provided, questioning the government's shifting of blame onto the contractor. Khalid asserted that the project's delays are due to repeated design changes and inadequate project management, resulting in significant cost escalations and public inconvenience. He called for an immediate, transparent inquiry into the project's mismanagement.
