Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid criticized the Sindh government and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for allegedly favoring K-Electric over local consumers. Khalid accused the government of neglecting Karachi's citizens by supplying electricity generated from Thar coal to K-Electric, rather than prioritizing local needs.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid labeled the Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority (SEPRA) as an "empty slogan" and questioned the transparency in the distribution of power. He emphasized that the rights of the people of Sindh to affordable electricity are being overlooked, as the province continues to face significant load-shedding issues. Khalid further demanded accountability for the alleged economic disadvantages faced by Karachi's residents, questioning the financial interests behind the sale of Sindh's resources at low prices to K-Electric. PTI vowed to address these grievances on various platforms, condemning the Sindh government's actions as detrimental to the welfare of its citizens.
