PTI Alleges Election Result Manipulation in Gilgit-Baltistan Amid Delayed Announcements

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary, Arslan Khalid, has voiced concerns over delays in announcing Gilgit-Baltistan election results, accusing the Election Commission of potential mandate manipulation. Khalid claims PTI-backed independents hold a clear lead, yet results for nine seats remain unpublished.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's press release, Khalid asserted that the PTI-supported candidates have shown significant advantage in the elections, yet the results for nine seats have been suspiciously withheld. The released Form 47 indicates that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured 7 seats, other independents won 5, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) gained 1, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) obtained 2 seats. Khalid expressed fears that the delay might lead to a repeat of previous alleged election misconduct and urged the Election Commission to release the results without interference. PTI candidates are reportedly stationed outside Returning Officers' offices, supported by party followers, to ensure the integrity of the election process.
