Sargodha: The University of Sargodha (UoS) recently hosted the 17th session of its China Fellowship Program, focusing on changing global diplomatic trends and China's future policy direction. The session was organized by the Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) and was led by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan.
According to University of Sargodha, Dr. Awan discussed the shifting dynamics of international relations, highlighting a transition toward a multipolar world order influenced by economic competition, strategic alliances, and regional cooperation. He noted the increasing impact of emerging economies on global diplomacy, with China playing a key role in redefining development priorities and international engagement frameworks.
A significant portion of the session addressed China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). Dr. Awan explained that the plan is expected to focus on innovation-led growth, green development, industrial transformation, and technological self-reliance. These priorities are anticipated to shape China's domestic progress and affect global trade patterns and regional integration.
Participants of the fellowship program shared their perspectives, providing policy-oriented feedback on the themes discussed. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to engage further with the speaker, fostering an academic dialogue.
