Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Djibouti, Ms. Aqsa Nawaz, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, where they discussed the future of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, President Zardari congratulated Ms. Nawaz on her recent appointment and expressed optimism for enhanced bilateral relations. He emphasized that the foundation of the Pakistan-Djibouti relationship is built on shared faith, cultural ties, and regional proximity. The President highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Djibouti, established in 2022, as a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to long-term engagement with the East African nation.
President Zardari applauded the ongoing coordination between Pakistan and Djibouti in international forums such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He advocated for expanded cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, education, tourism, trade, logistics, and maritime activities.
Reflecting on the potential for future collaboration, the President expressed confidence that Ambassador Nawaz’s tenure would further strengthen people-to-people connections and foster a stable and progressive partnership between the two countries.
