IIUI Approves Research Conference Grants

Islamabad: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has taken a significant step towards promoting research and academic pursuits. The university’s Travel Grant (TG), Conferences/Seminars and Workshops (CSW) Committee, chaired by Vice President (Research and Enterprise) Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, convened on Monday to assess and endorse proposals for academic gatherings.

The committee approved funding requests for workshops, seminars, and conferences submitted by various faculties, including Engineering and Technology, Social Sciences, CIRBS, the Islamic Research Institute, and the Sharia Academy.

Prof. Dr. Syed reaffirmed IIUI’s dedication to strengthening research endeavors. He stressed the importance of such activities in fostering a strong research environment, building faculty and student capacity, and enhancing the university’s national and international standing. This aligns with IIUI’s broader strategic initiatives to link research with practical application under Prof. Dr. Syed’s guidance.

The meeting saw active involvement from university leaders, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), and Prof. Dr. Fazlullah, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic, among other key stakeholders. Discussions centered on creating a stimulating environment for academic and research advancement within the institution.
