Faisalabad: The President and Vice President of the Green Youth Movement at the National Textile University, Faisalabad, took part in the TAYAR Training of Trainers event held at the University of the Punjab in Lahore from October 14 to 16. This three-day initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of young leaders in disaster risk reduction.
According to National Textile University, the TAYAR initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, UNICEF, the Higher Education Commission, the National Disaster Management Authority, and the School of Leadership Foundation. The program focuses on equipping participants with essential skills in disaster preparedness, climate resilience, school safety, emergency response, and community-based resilience planning.
The trained leaders from NTU's Green Youth Movement are now set to implement the program's cascade model by conducting disaster risk reduction awareness sessions for university students and reaching out to schools. This effort is part of a broader strategy to foster a culture of preparedness and resilience among the youth. The participation of NTU's representatives underscores the university's dedication to nurturing students as proactive leaders who contribute to the development of sustainable and resilient communities.
