Islamabad: Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, a leading expert in nanotechnology, presented a vision for transforming Pakistan’s fertilizer industry at the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority’s (PSQCA) Third Stakeholders Consultative Meeting. Dr. Farrukh, who chairs the Technical Committee on Nanotechnology at PSQCA and directs research at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), detailed how nano-fertilizers can boost nutrient absorption in plants, minimize ecological damage, and foster environmentally friendly agricultural methods.
He stressed the need to incorporate cutting-edge nanomaterials and implement robust regulatory frameworks to enhance the nation’s fertilizer production and bring it in line with international standards. Dr. Farrukh’s address underscored the potential of nanotechnology to drive progress in Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
