Rang-e-Pakistan Exhibition at GCU Showcases Cultural Heritage


Lahore: A four-day “Rang-e-Pakistan” exhibition has commenced at the Government College University (GCU) Lahore, marking Independence Day by highlighting the nation’s cultural heritage through art. The exhibition, held at the Salam Hall, was officially inaugurated by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman.



The event saw the presence of GCU Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umer Chaudhry, GCU Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf Azam, along with faculty members and students.



Organized in collaboration with GCU Faisalabad and the Inter-University Consortium, the exhibition features an array of paintings, photography, and artworks contributed by students and faculty. The exhibits focus on Pakistan’s culture, the beauty of Lahore, regional landscapes, and contemporary social and environmental issues.



Chief Secretary Zaman lauded the creativity and awareness exhibited in the artworks, especially those highlighting environmental concerns. He remarked that this year’s Independence Day is celebrated with a spirit of “victory in the battle for truth,” underscoring the importance of commemorating the freedom struggle.



Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Umer Chaudhry praised the young artists for their enthusiasm and cultural pride, identifying them as emerging socially conscious voices in the nation. During the event, he presented a painting to the Chief Secretary as a token of appreciation.



The exhibition will be open to the public from August 11 to 14 at GCU’s Salam Hall.
