Karachi: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has been recognized for its exceptional cardiac care, earning the 2025 Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the Chest Pain – MI Registry, an initiative by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). This accolade marks AKUH’s third consecutive international recognition and its second Platinum Award, the highest honor in the ACC’s performance achievement program.
The Platinum Performance Achievement Award is granted to hospitals that consistently provide evidence-based, guideline-directed care for patients experiencing heart attacks, known as myocardial infarctions. Hospitals must meet stringent performance criteria and engage in continuous quality improvement processes, including monitoring clinical performance and adopting best practices, to qualify for this award.
