Lahore: Former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been appointed as the mentor for the Wolves team for the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup, set to take place in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29. The tournament will showcase the top 150 cricketers in the country, competing in a single-league format.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Misbah-ul-Haq, known for his significant contributions to Pakistan cricket both as a player and coach, will guide the Wolves as they prepare at the Faisalabad Cricket Academy. His leadership is expected to play a key role in developing emerging players for the national team.
The Champions One-Day Cup will feature intense competition among teams, with the Wolves facing the Panthers in the opening match on September 12. Subsequent games will see them against teams like the Stallions, Dolphins, and Lions. Matches will generally start at 3 pm, except for a special game on September 16 that will begin at 9.30 am.
Misbah expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, emphasizing the opportunity to impact the development of young cricketers and to advance their skills in a highly competitive environment.
