Punjab University VC Stresses the Value of Freedom at Independence Day Ceremony

Lahore: During the Independence Day celebrations at Punjab University, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood emphasized the precious nature of freedom and expressed gratitude for the independence granted to Pakistan. The event included a flag hoisting outside the university’s administration block, attended by faculty, students, and families.

According to University of the Punjab, the ceremony was marked by the presence of significant figures including Registrar Dr. Ahmad Islam, and students Abdul Rehman, Gohar Ayub, Zarak Khan, and Iqra, who recently triumphed at the Asian Rowing Championship. The Vice Chancellor led the flag hoisting and concluded the ceremony with the symbolic release of pigeons, reinforcing themes of peace and freedom.
