Islamabad: The Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya (TNFJ) has openly criticized the Punjab government’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for banning indoor and enclosed gatherings, calling it a breach of human rights and a deviation from Pakistan’s foundational ideologies.
According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the recent regulations which restrict the construction of new mosques and Imam Bargahs are seen as a mockery of the National Action Plan and contrary to the Mousavi Junejo agreement of 21 May 1985. Allama Raja Bisharat Hussain Emami, central secretary general of the Jafariya Movement, articulated these concerns during the annual funeral ceremony at the Imam Bargah of Qasr Zainab (AS), emphasizing that the community will not compromise on their traditional mourning practices. He called for immediate governmental action to rectify these issues and monitor those within the administration who may be undermining the government’s reputation.
Emami also urged the prime minister and army chief to consider the concerns of the Jafariya Movement regarding the presence of banned parties and the need for stringent measures against proscribed groups to ensure peace and security. The event highlighted a collective determination to uphold the religious and cultural values central to the community’s identity.
