IIU Marks Independence Day with Ceremony and National Seminar on ‘Istehkam-e-Pakistan’

Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a national seminar titled “Istehkam-e-Pakistan” at the Faisal Masjid campus. The event featured prominent speakers and a series of activities underscoring the nation’s historical journey and future aspirations.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the seminar gathered key figures including Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, and IIU Rector Professor Dr. Samina Malik. They discussed the pivotal roles of historical leaders like Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal in establishing Pakistan as a beacon of hope and ideology. The discussions also touched on current national challenges and the strategic importance of education, political stability, and continuity in development policies.

In his address, Ahsan Iqbal underlined the achievements of Pakistan as a nuclear power and its ongoing struggle against challenges like unemployment and inflation. He also praised national hero Arshad Nadeem as a model of determination for the youth. Meanwhile, Rana Mashhood Hussain emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering young Pakistanis through the PM Youth Program and preserving the foundational values of the nation.

Rector Dr. Samina Malik highlighted the importance of unity and education in national development, calling on the youth to recognize their role in shaping Pakistan’s future. The event also included a plantation drive and the inauguration of an exhibition that showcased Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, aligning with the day’s theme of national pride and progress.
