Lahore: Prof. Dr. Sheikh Riazuddin, a celebrated leader in the field of life sciences and molecular biology, has passed away, leaving a profound legacy of scientific achievement and mentorship at the University of the Punjab.
According to University of the Punjab, Prof. Riazuddin was not only the founding director of the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology and Centre for Applied Molecular Biology but also a mentor who nurtured several generations of scientists. Prof. Riazuddin’s life will be honored with funeral prayers scheduled for tomorrow at 1:15 pm at Jamia Mosque, P-Block, Model Town Extension, followed by a gathering at 2:00 pm in the lawn of CEMB, Lahore. His passing is not only a loss to his immediate family and colleagues but also to the wider scientific world that benefited from his wisdom and dedication.
